The First One...

Updated: May 12, 2023

Beginnings are difficult. So go slowly and gently. Often you will find yourself along the way.

As cliche as that sounds, it's also quite true and my approach to beginning this blog. It all started just about a week ago. I was on a coveted date with Brandon, my patient and loving husband, when I announced I wanted to make my own website/blog. He was very supportive, as always, and began looking into specifics I wanted (or generalities, really). Unbeknownst to me, I was about to embark on a weekend long journey with a stomach bug and then pass it to my youngest. There I was all bright eyed and full of dreams thinking I'd work on it over the weekend and have something to show for it come Monday.

Nope.

It's now Wednesday and I'm just getting to those writing dreams and at 10:10p when I should actually be dreaming. (Sleep is also a coveted item these days as we have a toddler and baby born earlier this year). Even as I went to sit down to write, with my decaf coffee ready and both boys asleep in bed by 9:30p, the precious pacifier was nowhere to be found and I embarked on yet another journey. This time an overturning, rummaging, 20 minute search in cushions and cracks and chairs for the treasure which was successfully found to already be with the sleeping child. And my coffee is now lukewarm.

Beginnings are chaotic and rushed and challenging. But so is most of life. So I'll go slowly and gently. Maybe I'll find something in myself along the way. Here's to taking the time to observe and create to bring hope, inspiration, and encouragement to you.
